Baba Benin Family  Tree

• About Us:

  Agbole Ile Igbagbo family in Isale Afon, Ogbomosho, Oyo State, Nigeria. Are the descendant of Baba Benin. Baba Benin migrated from town called Adjarra in Danhomey Kingdom as far back as early 18th century . Dahomey Kingdom now known as Republic of Benin. A country in West Africa, Republic of Benin share boundary with Republic of Nigeria, Togo and Bukinafaso. 

  This family Tree of Ile Igbagbo Descendant Union which has come into being is combination, culmination of the efforts of our immediate past fathers (viz. Late Deacon Fredrick Modupe Alade, Late Mr. Victor Kofoworola Laniyi, Late Chief Emmanuel Lakanmi, Late Canon Lapese Ladipo and the last but not the least Late Mr Christopher Agboola Ajao. 

• The Pioneers:

   Together with the receptivity of and great efforts of the pioneers of the formation of the Descendants' Union like the philanthropic and accommodating Late Mr. Iretunde Olopade and untiring in every sense of the word Chief Abimbola Lasebikan. Late Mr. Fredrick Modupe Alade triggered off the idea of the union without seen its formation. But Mr. Victor Koforola Laniyi gingered the Descendants from Jos on with the active support of Mr. Christopher Agboola Ajao in Ibadan and so on the Sunday the 14^th of December 2000, the 1^st meeting of the Ibadan branch took place at the residence of Canon Lapese Ladipo in Oluwo Nla in Ibadan. Dapo Latubosun from Lagos attended that formative meeting. Soon others in the Lagos branch held its own inaugural meeting at the residence of Mr. Iretunde Olopade in 25th Agbonyin Avenue Surulere on May 20^th 2001.

  The suggestion of a Family Tree came from the Lagos branch but contribution came from Professor Akinlawon Agboola, which was collected from the notebook his fathers Rev. Emmanuel Oladele Agboola. Mr. Agboola Ajao and Mr. Ademola Browns contribution separately came from Professor Oyerindes jottings and other members of the family gave authentic and verifiable details for the expansion and the development of the family tree.

• History book of Ogbomosho (Iwe Itan Ogbomosho) :

  It should be noted that the Iwe Itan Ogbomosho by the renowned Historian Professor N. D. Oyerinde himself and sons of Ile Igbagbo.

  A brief account of the family house, outside historian like Chief Ayo Adelowo in his book " Education in Ogbomosho highlighted the contribution of that house and Mr. Adisa Adeleye from time to time in his Irawo Owuro talked of people from that house in his periodical.

  Total justice cannot be done to the family tree until more contributions have come from interested and well-meaning people from within and outside the family, especially, the families from Adjarra and Alasoro house who similarly migrated with their kith and kin from Adjarra in todays Republic of Benin in West Africa.
